mcp-proxy is a Python tool that bridges between Streamable HTTP and stdio MCP transports. It lets a server exposed over one transport be reached by clients using the other.
Use it when your MCP client and server speak different transports and you need a conversion layer between HTTP/SSE and stdio.
Use it to
- Expose a stdio MCP server over Streamable HTTP
- Connect an HTTP-based MCP client to a local stdio server
- Bridge legacy SSE-based MCP setups to Streamable HTTP
- Deploy MCP servers in Docker behind an HTTP proxy
