ha-mcp is an unofficial MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for Home Assistant, exposing a Home Assistant instance to LLM clients such as Claude. It is built in Python with uv and Docker tooling, ships an MCP manifest plus CLAUDE.md/agents configuration, and is available as a HACS custom component.

Use it when you want an LLM agent to interact with and control your Home Assistant setup via MCP.

Use it to

  • Connect Home Assistant to Claude via MCP
  • Integrate voice or chat LLM assistants with home automation
  • Install via HACS into an existing Home Assistant instance
  • Run the MCP server in Docker
  • Expose Home Assistant tools to any MCP-compatible client

For Home Assistant users wanting LLM/MCP integration
